Such a wise, tender, gentle and peaceful people would nor could not invent such a thing as "scalping"...nor, would they or could they ever be "savage". Only the white man, bereft of wisdom, tenderness, gentleness and peacefulness, could come up with such obscene and lying epithets. And so it became so in the minds of the whites...ever ignorant and violence personnifed as being a part of their inherent nature.
